IPL hair removal

IPL (intense pulse light) combines the speed of shaving with the lasting results promised by electrolysis. IPL hair removal is effective on almost any area of the body where smoother, younger, hair-free skin is desired. Larger areas can be treated with less mess, taking less time and being less painful than with electrolysis, waxing, or tweezing.

Although IPL machines are not lasers it uses flashes of light that work in a similar way to lasers. Highly controlled flashes of intense filtered light are directed onto the skin. This light is absorbed by melanin (in hair and pigment spots) and blood (in vascular lesions) and converted to heat.  The heat then destroys the follicle, pigment or vascular lesion, without damaging the surrounding tissue. An inbuilt cooling system in our Novalight IPL machine protects and cools the skin during the treatment.
